Enjoy winter in the daylight, then stay as the lights come on and the garden centre takes on a softer glow.
Winter at Sandhill is about getting outside, taking your time, and enjoying the grounds in a whole new way. Our Winter Activity Pass gives you access to skating, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing during regular Sandhill hours — with moments that feel especially special once the lights come on.

Explore the grounds at your own pace.
Snowshoeing at Sandhill is about wandering and discovery. Guests are welcome to explore the grounds freely in snowshoes, and to walk the Forest of Light path during off hours, taking in the scenery from a new perspective.

Skate in the heart of the garden centre.
Our skating area sits right at the centre of Sandhill — surrounded by greenery in the warmer months and soft winter light as the season shifts. During the day, it’s bright and open. In the evening, it becomes something quieter and more magical as the lights glow overhead.

Cross Country Skiing at Sandhill.
A simple path through the season.
Our designated cross-country ski path offers a gentle way to move through the landscape. It’s perfect for a peaceful glide, a bit of fresh air, and taking in the quiet beauty of Sandhill in winter.
Whether you’re experienced or just enjoying a casual ski, it’s an easy way to spend time outdoors.
